RP Benetti (1965-1967), translator of the english version. Only the first, second and last verses were translated because they were usually the only ones that were sung.

All day we're busy and work bound;
All times fierce winds hurl us around,
Although strong setbacks pester us.
Our motto stays: "Vat Vas!"

At hostel, school and in our trade
"Vat Vas" our work has lighter made
When problems come to burden us
We solve them thus: "Vat Vas!"

And when we've left behind school's gate
Are faithful citizens of the State
All in professions to suit us
Our motto stays: "Vat Vas!" - Like a Das.

I have written a piano version for those who are interested in hearing the old Anthem, and perhaps would like to play it on the piano...

Also, the GIS - the song we sang in the Dasse lorry on the way to rugby matches.
